I have always admired needle felted Waldorf birthday crowns, but I have never made one.
Years ago I made a princess crown for a kindergarten party, but that one wasn’t really elaborate.
Now a mama has asked me to make a birthday crown for her son, who likes animals and has his birthday in the summer. This is what I call an exciting challenge. I started planning the arrangement at once:
Then cut the pieces:
I started in the middle, with the magic deer, to hold the whole scene together:
I tried to add fairy features to the fox too, but she didn’t like it. After undoing like 3-4 trials, I accepted her will.
When all pieces were in place, I cut the back and tried to fit the elastic ribbon.
It looked better with a wide stripe:
But it was more comfortable with a thin one:
