Waldorf inspired season gnomes with replaceable month cloaks
Originally designed, delicately hand embroidered Waldorf peg doll calendar. With the four season gnomes putting on different felt cloaks in each month, you can celebrate being part of Nature and the wonderful circle of life. For children, the set helps to memorize the names and the order of months and seasons.
We keep our season gnomes on the table and have the present season stand elevated on a piece of wood (not included in the set). On the 1st of each month, the gnome changes its clothes.
In accordance with Waldorf traditions, the Spring month gnome is green, Summer is yellow, Autumn is red and Winter is blue. Their capes are of matching but different colours, forming a color circle, and have distinct decorations.
The set contains:
4 season gnomes
• green: Spring
• yellow: Summer
• red: Fall/Autumn
• blue: Winter
12 month cloaks
Icy January with icicles
Frosty, windy February
March, bringing forth the first buds
Whimsical, changing April
Blooming May
June with strawberries
July, reaping wheat
Golden August with a sunflower
Grape harvesting September
Leaf blowing October
Foggy November with a lantern
Sleeting, snowy December

Thank you. (Just a couple of days to go!)
These are so lovely! We are just getting started in our Waldorf journey and can’t wait to welcome some of your work into our home. By any chance do you know the name or author of the poem you mentioned? The link didn’t seem to work from the original post. Thanks in advance for your time!
Hi, thank you. I’ve updated the link. https://www.operencia.com/?s=h%C3%B3napsorol%C3%B3
This is a poem in Hungarian by Imre Csanádi. It is roughly about what I listed in describing the 12 cloaks, except for June, that’s about wheat ripening in the poem, but I thought 2 months about wheat would be too much for us 🙂
